Convert Image

Convert one supported image into JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, HEIC, or SVG. The source format is detected after you add the file, and the output is created as a separate download. Converting changes the container and encoding; it cannot recover detail already missing from the original.

How to use Convert Image

  1. 1 Add one supported source image.
  2. 2 Check the detected format and choose a different output format.
  3. 3 Set the output filename and start the conversion.
  4. 4 Download the new image and check it in its intended app.

Choosing an image format

JPG is widely supported and well suited to photographs, but it cannot keep transparent areas. PNG is useful for transparency, screenshots, and sharp graphics. WEBP and AVIF are compact web formats, while TIFF, BMP, ICO, HEIC, and GIF are more specialized and may not open in every app.

A conversion does not turn a low-resolution image into a sharper one. Animated sources are exported as a single image by the current converter. SVG output wraps the raster image in an SVG document; it does not trace the picture into editable vector paths.

Convert Image FAQ

Which image formats can I use?

The converter recognizes JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, HEIC/HEIF, and SVG sources and offers JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, HEIC, and SVG output.

Does conversion improve image quality?

No. A new format can improve compatibility or change file size, but it cannot restore detail lost from the source.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG, BMP, GIF, and HEIC output do not preserve full alpha transparency in this converter. JPG and HEIC place transparent areas on white; choose PNG, WEBP, or AVIF when transparency is important.

Does converting to SVG create vector artwork?

No. SVG output contains the raster image inside an SVG document, so the picture does not become editable vector paths.
