What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small values that a website or another service may store in a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and Cache Storage managed by a service worker. They can remember a choice, support a feature, or help measure use. This policy describes the browser-side technologies currently used or prepared for TheOnlineToolset.

Current first-party cookie status

The application currently sets no first-party HTTP cookies. We found no session cookie, security cookie, or CSRF cookie or token in the current web interface. Server-side abuse controls and request processing do not require us to describe a browser cookie. A third-party resource or future integration may have its own storage behavior; it will be treated as described in this policy and the Privacy Policy before it is enabled.

Strictly necessary technologies

A small local browser record is used to remember your cookie choices. This is used to apply your selection and avoid repeatedly showing the consent prompt; it is not used for advertising or audience measurement. Strictly necessary technologies may operate without optional consent where legally permitted. If browser storage is unavailable, the core tools remain available, but the prompt may appear again and choices may not be remembered.

Security and abuse prevention

The current site does not use a browser security or abuse-prevention cookie, CSRF cookie, or CAPTCHA. When the optional contact form is enabled, it uses a server-side submission limit and a hidden anti-spam field; neither is a browser cookie. The service may use other server-side controls to protect users and the service. We do not disclose operational safeguards or thresholds in this policy.

Preference storage

If you choose to enable recent-tool history, local storage may remember tool routes and timestamps so you can reopen tools. It is optional and off unless you enable it. The preference and history records are intended to stay on your device and are not intended to contain uploaded filenames, uploaded or generated file contents, download tokens, or private file URLs.

The current site does not persist language, appearance, or theme preferences in browser storage. It does not use session storage or IndexedDB.

Service worker and Cache Storage

The site uses a service worker and the browser's Cache Storage as a functional and performance enhancement. It can keep public static assets and selected public tool-page responses available for faster or limited offline display. It does not cache upload requests, API responses, download tokens, private file URLs, uploaded files, or generated file contents. Cache entries can remain until the browser or site clears them, or storage is reclaimed by the browser.

You can disable or remove the service worker and cached site data through browser controls. Doing so may remove the offline enhancement or cached assets, but should not prevent normal online access to core tools.

Analytics technologies

No analytics integration or analytics tag is currently active unless explicitly configured and consented. Where enabled, Google Analytics 4 loads only after affirmative analytics consent. It may process ordinary device and browser details, approximate location inferred from network information, and GA cookies to understand tool usage and reliability. Uploaded filenames, contents, IDs, private URLs, and generated outputs are not sent. You can withdraw analytics consent through Privacy choices or your browser controls.

Advertising technologies

Advertising is currently disabled by default and is not enabled by this policy. The site contains a gated Google AdSense integration, but it will remain inactive until deliberate production configuration, required approval, and consent controls are complete. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies when an integration is actually enabled. Uploaded filenames, file contents, generated outputs, download tokens, private file URLs, raw errors, and personally identifying contact-form content will not be sent to advertising services.

Third-party technologies

Some pages request fonts, interface libraries, or other static resources from third-party content-delivery services. Those requests are active page resources, not an analytics or advertising program operated by TheOnlineToolset. A resource provider may receive ordinary request information such as an IP address, browser information, the requested resource, and a referring page. No embedded third-party frame or object is currently used for the core tools. Review the provider's own privacy and cookie information for its practices.

Consent and changing your choices

Optional categories start disabled. Rejecting optional technologies must not prevent access to core tools. Closing or ignoring a consent prompt is not treated as consent. Use the controls in the prompt, or the button below at any time, to save, reopen, and change your selection.

Where legally required, analytics and advertising technologies will remain disabled until you make an affirmative choice. Withdrawing consent stops future optional processing by integrations that honor this control. It does not retroactively undo processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal, and it may not delete records already held by a third party.

How long choices remain stored

The consent record normally remains for up to 180 days, or until you clear site data, your browser removes or restricts it, storage is unavailable, or the consent-policy version changes. A material policy change can therefore ask you to choose again; routine deployments do not. The optional recent-tool history follows the browser-storage lifecycle. These client-side records are separate from temporary uploaded files and generated outputs, which are governed by the File Retention and Deletion policy.

Global Privacy Control and browser controls

When your browser exposes Global Privacy Control, the current consent code treats it as an opt-out for optional analytics and advertising choices. You can also block, delete, or restrict cookies, local storage, service workers, and Cache Storage in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage can make the consent prompt recur and prevent choices from being remembered; blocking optional storage may disable recent-tool history or any future optional feature that depends on it.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this policy when the service, storage technologies, or legal requirements change. The effective date shown above will be updated when a revision takes effect. If a change materially affects optional technologies or consent, we will provide an appropriate notice and update the preference controls where needed.
